Where the Chemistry Happens

As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.

We are seeking a Chemist professional like you to be responsible for the on-time, accurate and precise execution of precious metal assays. Information produced is vital for BASF to assist in precious metal manufacturing, quality control and customer service.

As a Chemist you create chemistry by…

Utilizing your mastery of classical wet chemical methods to include fusions, acid digestions, precipitation reactions, pyrometallurgy and wet chemical separations of complex precious metal mixtures, and precise and accurate gravimetric determinations, you will track, measure, monitor, and ensure completion of a specific sample type, as well as communicate status to your manager and customers. Working in a fast-paced analytical chemistry laboratory. Coordinating sample forecasts and reporting data to customers through LIMS system. Adhering to ISO and quality standards, you will maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of reported data, as well as safely use hazardous chemicals such as concentrated acids and peroxides

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Having earned a bachelor’s degree as a Chemist. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal communication. High degree of attention to details. Excellent organizational skills. Relying upon your capability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and precision. Your ability to work well both independently and as a team member will be essential, as you assist in other areas if necessary.
