SUMMARY
Responsible for the general operations of the child development center kitchen and supervising Early Care and Education students during lab rotations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Two years cooking experience for groups other than a family unit preferred. Must be able to meet the requirements of the licensing agency, the State Health Department, and the School Lunch Program. Must currently hold or obtain Entry Level Child Care Training through the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development and ServSafe certification. Must register on the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Work cooperatively with the center director and program coordinator to plan menus that provide variety and encourage healthy choices
· Purchase food and supplies necessary to prepare the planned menu for the number of children in attendance and program staff while monitoring ingredients for food allergies or restrictions
· Prepare home-style, nutritional meals within the boundaries of a budget and nutrition guidelines outlined within the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing Requirements
· Is adaptable and implements changes in menus if instructed to do so
· Serve foods that are conductive to family style dining
· Ensures each meal and snack is ready to be served as scheduled
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen in compliance with State Health Department Requirements
· Keep adequate records with regard to Canadian Valley Technology Center inventory, Oklahoma State Health Department and Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing requirements
· Modifies menus and recipes to meet the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, and the medical and feeding needs of children with disabilities, food allergies, or restrictions
· Delivers foods from the kitchen to the classrooms ready to be served as suitable for the children’s age and development
· Warm and deliver bottles to teachers
· Washes, dry’s, and puts away laundry for the child development center
· Assists with covering breaks for child care teachers as needed
· Supervise Early Care and Education students assigned to the kitchen and assist in the student education process
· Attend center activities including staff meetings, parent meetings, in-service meetings, and school functions
· Cooperate with staff and work as a member of a team in the Early Care and Education program
· Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Upon selection and an offer of employment, the candidate must pass a physical examination to demonstrate the ability to perform the tasks required for this job. The physical will be performed at a medical facility selected by the district.
The candidate must also, upon offer of employment, have a clean criminal background check by OSBI or other appropriate agency.
The candidate must also provide proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States.
