Due to continued growth, our Data Center Group is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer in our San Luis Obispo, CA, Kennesaw, GA (HQ), Fort Worth, TX, Emeryville, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Naperville, IL, or other office locations. This position can be Full Time, PT or LTLB or possibly remote for the candidate with the right skillset.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

• Support of engineering design and analysis projects for the commercial and critical power industry
• Design and analysis of changes to existing Data Centers as well as new building systems and new building design
• Perform static equivalent and dynamic analysis of structures for seismic loads using hand calculations and structural software
• Develop Equipment mounting, foundation design, and Mechanical/Electrical system support calculations and designs
• Understand Seismic Qualification of equipment
• Understand Seismic Nonstructural/Nonbuilding design and Building Seismic force resisting system design per latest codes and all materials
• Strong familiarity with latest material codes for steel, concrete, cold-formed steel, masonry, and wood construction
• Strong familiarity with the International Building code and building code design
• Familiarity with civil site plans
• Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design reports
• Lead projects independently and coordinate/delegate assignments to other project team members
• Perform site walk-downs to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions
• Perform site inspections and field support for construction of structural designs
• Develop drawings using CAD software
• Present project submittals to clients and lead internal and external meetings
• Support proposal development for future structural projects
• Develop specifications of structural components
• Develop cost estimates of structural modifications
• Many projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices
• Ability to work effectively on a team and interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of other offices.

Required Qualifications / skills

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in Structural Engineering design.
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Ability to be badged at a Data center
• Must be able to traverse stairs and ladders at client sites.
• Must be able to traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns.
• Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions.
• Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
