Serve in tandem with another AmeriCorps member and a program manager to build upon previous farming and gleaning efforts. The member will help recruit, train, and support volunteers, connect local families that have excess fruit and vegetables to gleaning services for collection, and expand our famer’s market donation program by connecting with local merchants and collecting donated food. Primary Duties: Develop and grow farm partnerships; recruit, train, communicate with volunteers; plan the farming volunteers events including working on a team to plan farm season; serve in tandem with Director of Programs to develop strategic planning, success of farming and gleaning programs and sustainability. Secondary Duties Include: Flexibility to serve after 5pm and occasional weekends; attend regular staff meetings; attend community meetings related to public health; attend necessary trainings; assist with organization-wide events; complete quarterly reports and maintain consistent reporting.

The mission of the Clark County Food Bank is to "alleviate hunger and its root causes." This position directly aims to address our mission by supporting our Farming and Gleaning program. This program is used to increase community involvement through volunteer participation, procure fruits and vegetable through farming and gleaning, and partner with local farmer's markets for donations. The goal of this program is to increase the amount of fresh produce available for our 43 partner agencies across Clark County, Washington. There are 9 AmeriCorps positions available with Clark County Food Bank. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and positions are open until filled. Pay: $2,785.90 per month
