What you’ll do:

• Create and maintain a working relationship with local, state and federal elected officials to advance transportation policies for the state of Missouri.
• Work in a small division that advises the department’s director and its independent bi-partisan commission on transportation-related legislative proposals.
• Monitor legislative meetings, committee hearings and floor debates on transportation-related proposals.
• Respond to legislative constitute concerns that are usually generated by the traveling public.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree: Political Science, Public Administration, or related field
• Two years of experience in positions providing exposure to governmental and legislative processes, public policy, or public related activities

Special Working Conditions:

• Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
• Long working hours are at times required during the annual legislative sessions (January through May) with flexibility during the interim and occasional overtime will be necessary.
