Clinical Admin - Medical Assistant (Sleep Center)
Job description
Rockville Internal Medicine Group is a large multi-specialty practice in Rockville, MD with an immediate opening for a regular full time Certified Medical Assistant to join our Sleep Center Team at our Rockville location!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent, additional course work or experience in the medical field.
- Current MA certification or registration is required.
- Pleasant, courteous speaking manner; must have good verbal and written command of the English language and medical terminology.
- Multi-task oriented.
- Working knowledge of computers
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner and act quickly in an emergency situation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to a provider’s office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Covers medical scribe when needed
- Prior authorizations for sleep studies and in office oral appliance
- Triage as needed
- Faxing of durable medical equipment orders and CMN forms
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate computer laptop and strong keyboard skills – 50+wpm
- Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills required.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple deadline driven tasks while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.
- 3+ years of medical experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
