We provide high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care for Utahns/people in eight health centers across the state.

Position Summary:
With the collaboration of the affiliate Medical Director, Surgical Director, and Lead Clinician, provides quality clinical and counseling service on all aspects of reproductive health, including abortion services. As a member of the clinic team, participates in the development and implementation of processes to provide quality patient care in accordance with Agency’s protocols, policies and procedures. Responsible for the organization and function of nursing staff at Metro Health Center.

Essential Job Functions
- Adheres to, complies with, and demonstrates support for the mission, policies, and procedures of the Metro Health Center (abortion clinic).
- Maintains clinical systems, i.e., abnormal lab follow-ups to assure agency compliance with protocol.
- Maintains awareness of clinic financial and patient data.
- Complies with appropriate Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Obtains and assesses the client, taking an accurate and relevant medical, sexual and social history and reassess at follow-up visits.
- Provide accurate information on all contraceptive methods, enabling the client to make informed choices. Teach each method, adapting teaching to meet individual client’s need.
- Perform pregnancy testing and counseling.
- Advise, counsel, and refer as necessary.
- Use appropriate care for both wanted and unwanted pregnancies.
- Recognizes common gynecologic and non-gynecologic medical problems and other deviations from normal and provides management or referrals according to protocols.
- Completes client visit records (CVR), medical records, and documents client encounters promptly and accurately.
- Completes tasks that support patient care such as prescription refills, phone consultations, and patient follow-up.
- Recognizes ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to women throughout the life cycle.
- Oversees, coordinates and is an active member of Metro’s Quality Assurance Committee. Is responsible for meeting agendas, minutes and implementing all improvements recommended.
- Participates with team members in the hiring, training and performance review of new employees.
- Collaborates with other members of the health care team on patient care standards and enhancement of efficient clinical operations.
- Provides accurate information enabling the client to make informed choices.
- Coordinates emergency drills for both medical and non medical situations.
- Participates in continuing medical education as necessary for licensure.
- Completes, evaluates and follows-up on any medical occurrences, identifying patterns and trends if applicable.
- Participates in student training.
Education, Experience, and Minimum Requirements
- Current Utah RN license.
- 2+ years clinical experience in Women’s Health
- Bachelors, AND, of diploma in Nursing.
- Intermediate skill level using MS Office products.
- Previous experience and demonstrated capability using electronic health systems.
- Professional, self-motivated, results oriented.
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal/presentation).
- Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel on an ongoing basis.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel to PPAU health center locations.
- Adhere to the timeline and completes all required PPAU, PPFA, and state mandated trainings.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment, health care environment preferred.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, ability to apply depth of knowledge and experience in solving complex challenges/making recommendations where no precedent may exist.
- COVID-19 and yearly Flu vaccinations are required.
