NOTE: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Intake Clinician
POSITION SUMMARY
The intake clinician will conduct timely comprehensive assessments, assist with outreach and marketing efforts and complete all of the necessary documentation associated with the intake/enrollment process. This position will also share responsibility for ensuring that the intake department provides quality customer service to clients and referral sources. The Intake Clinician will give case overviews to program staff prior to a child being admitted to the program, and support program staff as client transition through Edgewood’s system of care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conducts intake screenings and responds to inquiries regarding referrals to Edgewood programs.
  • Performs intake assessments and coordinates the intake process for the STRTP, NPS and acute intensive services programs
  • Assists with ensuring that census goals are met
  • Communicates effectively with all members of a child’s care team.
  • Ensures compliance with all Edgewood intake related policies and procedures and external professional standards and industry regulations.
  • Triages to the appropriate settings in the San Francisco region and ensures rapid provision of services
  • Conducts initial authorizations, coordination of eligibility and benefits, and utilization reviews with funders, including public agencies, school districts and insurance companies.
  • Participates in a weekly intake meeting to coordinate admissions and discharges.
  • Attends weekly clinical consultation meetings
  • Assists with outreach and marketing activities as assigned
  • Communicates weekly to our partners regarding openings in all programs
  • Provides information to and conducts tours for potential clients, referral sources and partnering entities.

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in the field of mental health is required
  • MFT, LCSW or Licensed Psychologists preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment and clinical case management with children and families
  • Multicultural competence in serving the diverse ethnicities, cultures, religions and sexual orientations reflected in communities of the greater San Francisco Bay Area
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends as assigned
SALARY INFORMATION
This position has as salary range of $75,004.80 to $97,377.28 depending on years of clinical experience and bilingual language skills. As part of our team, benefits-eligible employees receive an excellent comprehensive benefits package:
