SmartBooks is a leading provider of bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and financial planning and analysis services for small businesses. About the Job Opportunity:

• You will lead a team of 3-4 accountants and bookkeepers delivering monthly accounting and financial reporting for 20-25 clients in a remote Cloud Accounting model.
• You will remain very hands-on. You'll personally design policies and SOPs, onboard new clients, deliver high-level accounting, and lead budgeting and forecasting while also delegating and supervising the work of your team members.
• You will work directly with business owners. Clients will look to you as the expert on their accounting. Some will come to view you as their CFO.
• Most clients will be small businesses with between $1-to-$10 million in annual revenue. This is not a position for someone seeking to work with big companies or on sophisticated GAAP matters.
• This is a position focused on managing reasonable accounting practices with the larger objective of helping clients understand, plan, and manage their financial performance.

About You:

• You have 10 years of true debits and credits accounting experience, with a few years in public accounting or other dynamic multi-client environment.
• You have managed accountants and bookkeepers before and will embrace the management and development part of this job. You are seeking a management role, not an individual contributor role with a manager title.
