About the Role:
The Application Delivery Services Information Management Services department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Software Engineer with AWS Cloud expertise, specifically around EKS, Postgres SQL, Dynamo DB, Lambda functions and some development experience in Java and Angular. The Federal Reserve plays a major role supporting US Treasury applications. This position will be responsible for the design, development, engineering and reengineering of software solutions for a large nationally used US Treasury application.
Key Activities:
Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of solutions in support of applications, databases, test automation tools, and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.
Demonstrated proficiency with some of the following technologies on a Cloud platform: AWS cloud native services (EKS, Postgres SQL, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, MQ), Infrastructure as Code(Terraform), and GitLab/Bamboo.
Demonstrates technical skill in at least one programming general purpose language (Java, C#, Python), JavaScript framework such as Angular and domain specific language (HTML, SQL, proprietary vendor language) as needed.
Performs peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.
Reviews and analyzes business and technical requirements, and implements technical solutions to meet those requirements.
Provides on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency with AWS Cloud development principles, managed services and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Familiarity with Industry software development methodologies, standards and architecture frameworks.

Some experience with Java recommended.

Some experience in Front-End development with Angular recommended.

Understanding of data management and modeling.

Experience working with databases and Structured Query Language.

Understanding of modern DevOps tooling and code scanning solutions (Maven, Bamboo, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Fortify and Sonar).

Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build relationships, promote a collaborative working environment.

This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. You can begin work before the screening is completed; however, continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results. The areas screened may include education/employment verification, criminal history, credit history, and reference checks.

The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City, MO. We offer employees the flexibility to work from home up to 80 percent of the time. Fulltime Remote could also be considered for this position.
