Our company is a fast paced and growing franchisee of the Planet Fitness gym concept, currently owning over 100 locations throughout Connecticut, New York, New Mexico, Arizona, Georgia, Tennessee, and Canada...and growing.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates at all levels of club management across the state. This includes candidates for the following roles:
- Assistant Managers
- Managers in Training (MIT)
- General Managers
Club management team members will lead and support a staff dedicated to delivering an excellent experience and revenue growth simultaneously. This involves overseeing the entire operation of the club with the focus on providing a superior customer experience, establishing relationships within the community, developing a full staff all while staying within the operational budget set for the club. Club Management is responsible for achieving targeted results in the areas of financial sustainability, customer satisfaction, revenue/sales performance, and financial returns. They are accountable for the successful management, administration, and daily operations of the gym. We are looking for leaders who are results-oriented and committed to quality service.

Highlights of Key Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand and drive club metrics in alignment with business performance and goals.
- Experience selecting, training, and managing a team of high performing staff.
- Mentor employees to promote career growth through training, development, and performance assessment.
- Experience interviewing and recruiting staff by conducting initial phone and in-person interviews to ensure a strong bench of candidates and staff at all times.
- Maintain a knowledge of club services, programs and products as well as current knowledge of key competitors.
- Experience with monitoring and managing inventory by reviewing daily/weekly/monthly sales numbers to identify opportunities and modify execution as needed to improve performance.
- Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards and leading by example for delivering the organizations mission, vision and values; manage a clean, friendly and well-maintained club.
- Ensure that team members consistently execute the basics in punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness.
- Maintain club schedule ensuring all shifts are fully staffed to ensure club is able to provide a safe and clean environment for our members. May have to cover shifts due to call-outs or vacancies.
- Assist in overseeing club audits to ensure that all areas of the club are clean, neat, organized, and in "like new" condition.
- A contributing team member, assist the front desk as necessary so members receive a friendly greeting/check-in and prompt attention to their needs.
Minimum Skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Solid work ethic with strong decision-making skills.
- Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal direction and supervision.
- Comfortable working a flexible rotating schedule.
- Basic computer, math, and communication skills required.
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- Hard working, goal oriented, enthusiastic, and energetic!
- Physical Requirements: Ability to talk and hear, sit, stand, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
