Job Description
The Community Health Program Coordinator creates and manages education material, lesson plans, and presentations for the Community Health Strategies & Innovations department. This role will support various community-based programs aimed at the prevention/management of chronic disease and the promotion of initiatives to meet the strategic goals of University Health and Community Health Strategies and Innovation. With an emphasis on nutrition literacy, this position will assist in creating interventions to break down barriers and social determinants of health to reduce health disparities and increase health equity. Effectively teach health education to diverse audience including school-based programming. Community Health Program Coordinator is also responsible for providing marketing support and community health education creation. Responsible for providing support of nutrition education programming and the Healthy Harvest Mobile Market operations. This role is also responsible for data analysis and value recognition for Community Health Strategies & Innovation’s team. This position uses systematic approaches and strategies to identify most efficient means to generate consistent, optimum results. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as new programming is created and by the direction of manager and department strategy.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in health sciences, public health, or equivalent in combination of education and experience

1-2 years working and/or volunteering in community or public health
-
Experience teaching health education topics in a community setting
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high volume environment
-
Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
-
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, etc. in addition to a basic understanding of graphic design software

Ability to maintain professional demeanor and demonstrate excellent customer relation skills in fast-paced, high stress environment

Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work with limited supervision

Ability to maintain sensitive information and maintain highest levels of confidentiality

Flexible schedule, some weekends and evenings required

Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force (energy exerted) occasionally, exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently

Must understand and support the importance of healthy foods and lifestyle
