Position Summary:

The community health nurse will provide community nursing services to adult men and women who live in Jefferson County. One of the primary populations of focus will be adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness, and who live in shelters or on the streets. A second population of focus with is low-income residents of Bessemer.

Primary Responsibilities

-Provide nursing services to individuals who reside in shelters, on the street or in community settings

-Assist with telehealth appointments for individuals who reside in shelters, on the street or in community

- Conduct testing for COVID-19 for individuals who reside in shelters, on the street or in community settings

-Serve as a liaison between the health center and for individuals who reside in shelters, on the street or in community settings in Bessemer

-Assist with coordinating scheduling of telehealth appointments

-Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by the agency

-Provide RN back up to LPNs in the residential facilities

Qualifications:
-Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in Alabama with a current, valid and unrestricted RN license.

-Must be able to obtain MAS certification

Wage:

$29 per hour

$100.00 per week when on call!

$1,200 Retention Bonus after 6 months
