Clarion Security is looking for a Controller in the Memphis, TN market. Our company is experiencing dramatic growth in Memphis and other markets.
This 100% in-office position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understands the need to work in an integrated manner with other members of the department in furtherance of goals, objectives, and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Performing monthly financial close functions through the preparation of financial statements for each designated operating location and the company as a whole.
- Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
- Monthly narrative analysis of significant financial variances to budget and forecast.
- Completion of a financial forecast.
- Effective ongoing communication of financial related information to business counterparts
- Planning and participating in the annual financial budget process
- Providing training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance, accounting procedures, and financial statement review.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Manage journal entries, invoices, and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
- Participate in preparation for the annual audit
- Manage Payroll, Payables, and Receivables for accuracy, compliance, and efficiencies
- Special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in reviewing and supervising bookkeepers.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field is preferred
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
