Position Purpose:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for administering the credit union’s risk-based compliance programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for the execution of compliance programs:
- Administers best practices in compliance management programs in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines commensurate with the risk profile of the credit union.
- Generates and compiles reports, effectively utilizes compliance management systems and supports enterprise-wide projects and strategic initiatives.
- Provides meaningful recommendations and solutions to Management and Team Members to compliance questions.
- Updates disclosures, policies, procedures and forms as needed to maintain and implement organizational changes.
- Disseminates information regarding regulatory changes and assists in the implementation of those changes.
- Develops the compliance training program and ensures appropriate training is completed throughout the credit union.
- Demonstrate an exceptional current and ongoing understanding of regulatory laws and regulations applicable to the credit union.
- Collects and organizes information to assist with regulatory examinations and audits.
- Identifies opportunities where the credit union can improve the member experience within acceptable risk tolerances.
- Responsible for supporting compliance of all applicable laws and regulations that the credit union is subject to.
Assumes responsibilities for related duties as required or assigned.
Education/Certification:
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in financial regulatory compliance or audit.
- Knowledge of and practical experience with financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and applicable laws and regulations.
- Must obtain NCCO Certification (NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer), or similar industry designation, within one (1) year of hire.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proven ability to create, comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex rules, regulations and regulatory guidance.
- Proven ability to write reports, assessments, procedures, and policies.
- Proven ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
- Proven strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proven strong Microsoft Office Suite product skills and project management software skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
