Construction Manager Position Summary
The purpose of the position is to provide leadership and support to oversee, plan, schedule, and support both in-house and subcontractor crews for the proper, high-quality installation of house wrap, siding, windows, decking, and other services in a fast-paced residential and commercial construction environment. The Construction Manager is responsible for the coordination, delegation, supervision, and quality control of on-site work including responsibility for performance and productivity of all crew members and subcontractors and the accuracy of all related documentation.
Construction Manager Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing assigned internal team members and subcontractors’ workload, resource usage, outcome quality, budget, and customer relationships.
2. Plan, implement, and manage the technical, administrative, and financial aspects to accomplish the construction workload for the assigned area.
3. Foster a team environment. Maintain positive relationships with customer’s supervisors, installers, suppliers, and other subcontractors.
4. Make recommendations for staffing requirements by analyzing productivity requirements, equipment considerations, industry benchmarks, and established work metrics.
5. Maintain an adequate number of competent staff utilizing the targeted selection process and effective scheduling methodology.
6. Manage material delivery and storage in the warehouse.
7. Ensure equipment is maintained and services are performed in accordance with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Ensures all required inspections and certifications by AHJ.
8. Demonstrate ownership and accountability for responsibilities, customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
9. Schedule material delivery, quality control, punch-out and managing key relationships.
10. Walk job sites regularly to ensure project is on schedule and that the workmanship meets plans, specifications, and standards of quality.
11. Must fully understand safety policies and uphold quality and industry standard requirements.
12. Must supervise installers, and always promote job site safety, encouraging safe work practices and rectifying job site hazards immediately.
13. Responsible for the daily scheduling of in-house and subcontractor crews.
14. Works with existing customers to review warranty claims and scheduling of the work to be performed per the customer’s schedule.
15. Responsible for inventory of tools and equipment on installation crews’ trucks.
16. Analyze and monitor internal processes for scopes for which you are responsible.
17. Partners with management to enforce policies as necessary.
18. Assign and monitor responsibilities and tasks, ensuring top performance among direct reports, and provides adequate coaching and guidance.
19. Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
20. Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
21. Provide reporting as requested.
22. Daily checks of direct reports and subcontractors in the field environment.
23. Ensuring all QA/QC standards are being met by direct reports and subcontractors.
24. Ensure the worksite is clean, orderly, and visually appealing to customers during construction.
25. Other duties as assigned by management.
Construction Manager Education and Experience
1. Minimum five (5) years of experience in managing multiple projects.
2. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
3. High school diploma or equivalent required.
4. Bachelor's degree preferred.
5. Advanced knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and document management required.
6. Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints required.
7. Prefer experience with house wrap, siding, windows, and decking.
8. Prefer experience estimating work.
9. Proficient with email and telephone skills.
10. Prefer MS Office, estimating, and project management software experience.
11. Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet specific deadlines.
12. Able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
13. Good analytical skills, able to make sound decisions utilizing the data at hand.
14. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
15. Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
16. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
17. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
18. Strong organizational and planning skills.
19. Knowledge of business and management principles.
Construction Manager Physical Demands
1. May require heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
2. May require climbing ladder up to 30 feet.
3. May require exposure to weather and temperature extremes.
4. May require prolonged standing.
5. May require extensive walking over rough terrain and construction zones.
6. May require protective clothing and equipment e.g., hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, steel-toe boots.
7. May require travel.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
