Job Summary
The role of the Consumer Finance Underwriter II will be to evaluate branch and/or indirect Retail Sales originated applications and make decisions regarding whether to approve or deny an applicant for financing. The underwriting department provides support for Lendmark from a centralized environment.
Competencies
  • Analyzes loan applications, credit bureau reports, collateral, existing account data, income documents and other loan documentation in order to make consistent, sound lending decisions
  • Communicates directly with branch and indirect dealer employees on loan decisions and clearly explains reasons for stipulated loan decisions to mitigate the risk associated with the application
  • Effectively educates dealer employees on indirect program guidelines, available technology and strengthens dealer relationships through regular verbal and written communication
  • Meets or exceeds the expectations established for reviewing loans that route to the underwriting review queues
  • Adheres to government regulations and compliance guidelines
  • Underwrites to established policies and within credit approval authorities (CAA)
  • Assist with training and special projects
  • Manages risk relative to role
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years consumer finance, indirect retail sales, or automobile underwriting experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, week-ends and holidays
Working Conditions
This position will work remotely and the person will be located in Mountain Standard time.
