Content Editor- Remote (US - Contract) 

As an Expedia Group Copy Editor, you will join our team of communications experts dedicated to building confidence in Expedia Group’s strong future. You will work with global corporate brand, industry relations, and consumer public relations teams on the broad subject matter, across multiple channels and tones of voice. The top contender loves elevating others’ stories, has a superior eye for detail, gets satisfaction from a seriously good headline from the highest quality work, and wants to go get what’s next in travel and technology. This is a 1-year assignment.

What you’ll do

• Edit top priority press releases, reactive messaging, pitches, and stories for consumer-facing brands, corporate brands, and industry relations
• Be a strategic partner in establishing robust editing processes
• Juggle multiple editing projects at once, many with fast turn times
• Elevate stories according to specific goals of each piece and objective of each division, appropriate to tone of voice, audience, and channel

Who you are

• A minimum of 3+ years experience as a copy editor for a professional publication or corporation, or equivalent experience, with proven ability to edit for structure, stylistic conventions, grammar, and punctuation under deadline pressure
• Comfortable working with speed and efficiency, with a strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Experience working simultaneously across multiple clients, stakeholders, or business units
• Background in journalism, literature, or freelance writing. Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related subject, or equivalent experience a plus
• Experience working directly with the press and ability to anticipate the intended impact of a story
• Experience working in a professional corporate environment, with soft skills to collaborate with internal partners
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative and sometimes ambiguous space
• Comfortable with technology and operating on multiple systems
• Extensive knowledge of Chicago and AP styles
• Able to quickly edit a news-oriented post and deeply edit a more in-depth story

Please note contractors are engaged to provide services to Expedia Group on a temporary basis in connection with a specific assignment. Contractors are hired and employed through Atrium, our third-party payrolling partner.
