What you will do

Lead operations finance for the product BU or region they are responsible for within Global Products HVAC-R business. Responsible for providing in-depth financial planning and business analysis as it relates operations, and to provide senior management insight into the financial trends and operating performance for all plants and commercial teams within their scope. Includes assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts as well as providing other forms of performance benchmarking. Develops/maintains financial models to support the Global Manufacturing Strategic Plan and ad hoc “footprint” and strategic initiatives analysis. Must be able to deal directly with Group and Division senior management.

How you will do it

• Proactively work with senior global manufacturing and engineering management to optimize global manufacturing “footprint” via development of a strategic plan linked to LOB and regional growth objectives.

• Proactively work with the plants, engineering, and sales to improve actual financial results consistent with operating plan commitments and objectives, especially in the areas of pricing, continuous improvement, freight, and direct material savings.

• Develop and review monthly financial results and business metrics. Proactively identify business improvement opportunities and either implement them or communicate them to management for implementation.

• Identify best business practices and facilitate the propagation of these practices throughout the locations. Processes include but are not limited to OTC, PTP and RTR.

• Provide leadership, training and direction to the regional and local controllers and team members to improve their financial and business skills so they can effectively manage their business.

• Review key balance sheet reserves for inventory, warranties, accounts payables, etc. monthly and identify and communicate forecast risks and opportunities as appropriate. Ensure reconciliations of key accounts (inventory, accrued A/P, etc.) are performed on a monthly basis.

• Periodically review key SOX control matrices for each responsible plant to assure Company internal control compliance is maintained.

• Review and understand finance policies for inventories (standard costs, excess and obsolete, etc.), fixed assets, warranties, etc. and ensure accounting is being performed in a manner that is consistent with established policy. Assist the development and implementation of accounting policies where appropriate.

• Supports the strategic planning, annual budgeting and forecasting process for the operating locations.

• Coordinate the preparation, review and approval of regional CAR’s through global management, inclusive of project “post mortems” after project completion.

• Provide support for deployment and enhancement of IT financial and business systems.

• Provide backup to plant controller duties, as required.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Accounting degree, MBA and/or CPA or CMA preferred

• Minimum of ten years of broad financial experience in all aspects of business control.

• Prior experience as a financial controller is highly desirable.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees/management.

• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Familiarity with IT systems as they relate to financial functions and operational areas.

• Individual PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
