Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. Some remote opportunities are available within specific departments. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. You’ll learn more about this during the application process.
JOB SUMMARY: Writes smart, engaging copy and contributes to conceptual development for projects across every medium. Collaborates with peers, teaming every day with Art Directors, other Writers, Producers, Editors and partners across the company. Under the direction of the Associate Creative Director, innovates and brainstorms to build the Universal brand and push beyond the expected. Has the talent to think big and the skill to iterate granularly to create advertising content for digital, print, CRM, web, radio, video, social and more.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates innovative solutions to support Marketing, Sales and communication strategies. Generates fresh, clever, engaging ideas for projects of all sizes. Utilizes their talents with a specific focus on writing and iterating creative content for video, digital, social and web pieces. Maintains current knowledge of marketing strategies and trends.
- Understands, embraces and evolves our unique Brand voice. Works daily alongside Art Directors, Producers, Editors, Project Managers, Brand partners, Creative Directors and peers across departments to develop concepts and copy that work together to achieve our goals.
- Keeps commitments by delivering exceptional work on-time. Brings enthusiasm and positive thinking to every opportunity.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising or Broadcasting preferred and/or years of professional experience
EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of conceptual copywriting in an advertising agency or in-house advertising department environment required. Candidates with an advanced degree from a specialized advertising school with fewer years of experience will also be considered. An understanding of creative problem solving, brand building and translating strategy into powerful messaging is required. Drive, talent and the ability to conceive, write and execute concepts that work in multiple mediums is vital. The ability to collaborate, innovate and swing for the fences is essential.
