In this role, you'll have the opportunity to utilize a variety of tools, which may include Python, Alteryx, and other relevant technologies, to design and develop ETL workflows and datasets, perform complex data analysis, and automate data extraction for firmwide decision-making. The selected candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts and lines of business Control Managers to deliver innovative solutions and reporting outputs that propel insights for both analytical and non-analytical audiences. You will leverage your ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and work to solve business challenges and queries via analysis, and will be encouraged to continuously explore and integrate new tools and techniques to improve processes and outcomes.

The Analytics role plays a critical part in the Control Management Controls Room team, which is situated within the broader Control Management organization. The primary goal of Control Management is to establish a strong and consistent control environment across the organization, from front office to back office, regardless of line of business or functional area. Job responsibilities:
  • Utilize a combination of relevant technologies, such as Alteryx, SQL, and Python, to establish an automated ELT process and data model that enables seamless provision of data to various business units within the organization
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the source data and meticulously validate it to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the resulting reports
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
  • Develop and deliver training to non-technical stakeholders on data analytics best practices and tools
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and research to support special projects or initiatives
  • Undertake the comprehensive end-to-end development of operational risk data reporting, from technical data extraction to the creation of high-impact reports
  • Assume a leadership role in engaging internal stakeholders and technology experts in collaborate discussions, with the aim of capturing intricate requirements and delivering innovative solutions
  • Acquire a nuanced comprehension of the intricate risk and control program strategies, and apply this expertise to proactively enhance project outcomes, identify effective solutions, and mitigate issues
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation
  • Effectively manage and actively participate in the simultaneous execution of numerous project work streams, with a focus on ensuring that each project is appropriately prioritized and effectively coordinated

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:
  • Quantitative background (BA/BS in Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field)
  • Proficiency in working with large and complex datasets and perform extensive analysis to derive insights and inform data-driven decision-making
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in self-service analytical ETL tools, with a particular focus on industry-leading technologies such as Alteryx, Tableau Prep, UiPath, Python, or other relevant analytical tools
  • Proven experience in automation and task scheduling
  • Strong understanding of efficient data querying and relational database management
  • Experience working with Agile or other project management methodologies
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with individuals across diverse functional groups and hierarchical levels
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, sense of accountability, and a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion
  • Exhibit adaptability and flexibility to respond promptly to shifting priorities, while also thriving in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, and displaying excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of database functions such as Pivot Table and Power Query, as well as the ability to automate repetitive tasks using VBA to effectively validate and analyze report results
  • Experience working with internal control and risk management is considered advantageous, but not required
