DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

This is a full-time position working rotating shifts (1pm - 9pm) with State Benefits.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. About Richmond Correctional Institution:
Richmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman, North Carolina and houses up to 833 male offenders in a medium and minimum custody facility.This position is currently located within the Department of Public Safety but will transfer to the Department of Adult Correction when it is established on January 1, 2023.

The standardized annual salary for this position is $51,201 dependent upon fund availability and OSHR approval.

Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position is responsible for assisting a Correctional Housing Unit Manager II in the management and operation of an institutional housing unit. Job responsibilities include; but are not limited to, the following: Implementing and monitoring the unit case management system which entails providing individual counseling, participating in group sessions, and maintaining reports relating to the offenders’' progress.
Supervising staff; and in the absence of the Correctional Unit Manager II, assuming responsibility for the overall management of the unit.
Serving on institutional classification committees.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of correctional experience, one of which must have been at the supervisory level
Or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
