The expected ENTRY pay range for this position, based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $19.50 - $21.71.

This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position
The Court Administration Lead provides guidance and leadership to staff that provides case processing, case flow management, and administrative tasks in support of the Criminal Department’s efforts to work in collaboration with other criminal justice agencies to efficiently resolve cases in a just manner, respecting the rights of defendants, victims, and the community. This specific recruitment will serve the Special Queues, Admin Unit within the Criminal Department.
Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This position will allow for a telework schedule up to two days per week dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible legal, court, or justice system support related experience
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
  • Other combinations of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis
Our Preferred Candidate has:
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy or related field
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • State Constitution of Arizona, Arizona Criminal Court rules, policies and procedures
  • Legal terminology and the legal requirements of processing court documents
  • Customer service standards and practices
Skill in:
  • The use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and coordinating the work of subordinates.
Ability to:
  • Multitask and cope with a high volume of work
  • Work in a time-critical work environment
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

  • Trains and oversees the work of assigned staff on department policies and procedures
  • Assists with the hiring, evaluation, performance of staff, and developing performance management plans
  • Performs a variety of customer service/administrative duties which may include answering questions from the public (in person and by phone) regarding status of their case
  • Performs data entry and case management functions
  • Photocopies, scans, faxes, generates notices, schedules hearings and creates Orders to Appear
  • Maintains statistics and writing/updating procedures
  • Reviews and processes Minute Entries
  • Attends meetings and occasionally take minutes of the meeting
  • May perform supervisory functions in the absence of a supervisor
  • Prepares and processes formal orders, legal forms, and applicable documents at the direction of the Judge
Working conditions :
Work primarily performed in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.
