ABOUT THE COURT
Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles (Court) is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 38 courthouses within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,500 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $855 million. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,084 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Court Operations Directors are responsible for managing, directing and integrating broad, comprehensive Court-wide programs, including human resources, juror services, legal/litigation support and facilities management programs and services, to meet Court-wide business and operational needs. Programs and services are delivered through central and district staff assigned to support the human resources, facilities, legal/litigation support and juror services needs of Court operations. Responsibilities are broad in scope, allow for a high degree of program and administrative discretion and are evaluated in terms of overall program results and cost effectiveness.

This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.
TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES
This position is eligible for some telework following an initial training period.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements at the time of filing:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university -AND- Two years of experience at the level of a Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles Deputy Director or higher (i.e. Administrator III, Senior Administrator) in a Court or public entity.
Examples of duties include planning, managing and directing operations and/or administrative functions for multiple locations, for a litigation or centralized units such as court reporters or interpreters._ Incumbents participate in development and implementation of the Court's strategic plan, mission, vision and values and are responsible for the development and implementation of district and division strategic plans and initiatives designed to achieve the Court's overall plan._
Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will be independent, reliable, adaptable, and possess the following desirable qualifications:
- Knowledge of Court administrative functions and operations
- Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration including budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance of public records
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in working with and providing staff support to Judicial Officers, State and County government officials, the Bar, and other stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills in leading organization wide initiatives
