The customer service/sales manager must be a dedicated, capable, assertive supervisor who likes people and works well with them. He/She must be able to manage and direct many employees in the customer service department of the company. He/She must also deal with customers in processing orders and resolving disputes and errors. He/She must interact professionally with suppliers, other managers and department heads within the company. It is imperative that the customer service/sales manager be able to work well with all employees and managers of the company at the office in Grand Junction and the office in California.

The principal responsibility of the customer service/sales manager is the customer service/sales office and personnel of the company’s office in Grand Junction, Colorado. This office is in operation from 6:00 A. M. to approximately 5:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. The customer service/sales manager’s work hours will be from 7:30 A. M. to approximately 5:30 P.M., Monday through Friday to provide the necessary supervision of the office. The selected manager is responsible for maintaining sufficient personnel to handle the volume of calls coming into the customer service office.

The selected customer service/sales manager will be expected to fill in on the phones of the customer service office when employees are out sick, on vacation or during particularly busy periods during the day. In this respect the customer service manager needs to be able to process orders in a similar manner to the customer service employees in order to understand, and oversee the aspects of the sales office and its functions. The customer service/sales manager must demonstrate good judgment in approving any non-standard procedures in assisting customers and settling disputes.
