Position Summary

As part of the IT Research team supporting the BMS Research Organization, the Data Analyst position will assist with Financial management and Operational oversight while identifying insights from data that optimize the services the IT Research function provides. This role is within the Cross Collaboration organization and will report into the Director of Strategy and Operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with collecting, cleansing and consuming data into our target reporting tools/repositories
• Work across the organizational owners of data to correct data issues within the system of record
• Correlate data to identify actionable results
• Assist in developing reports/visualization that identify opportunities, predict outcomes or resolve issues the organization is faced with
• Support ad-hoc projects and requests that are assigned to the Finance and Operations function
• Assists teams throughout organization with the budgeting lifecycle building trusted partnerships
• Research, identify and resolve root causes driving financial variances
• Help maintain analytical reporting capabilities that support the mission of the Strategy and Operations function as well as the broader Research IT organization
• Promotes BMS’ culture of diversity and inclusion to develop others' skills in support of their career goals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Financial background with general accounting knowledge
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualization
• Experience in project management and financial tracking
• Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action
• Passion for learning and exhibit a positive work approach, with high productivity and a collaborative spirit
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task along with a strong attention to detail is required for this position
• Knowledge of data management and database design concepts
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to work independently
