Product Data Scientist
The Apps Engineering team is looking for an experienced Data Analyst who will focus on ad-hoc analysis, exploratory analysis and development of innovative components to help optimize product and enhance user experience via understanding and interpreting their behavior. You will be responsible for helping answer life cycle analytics questions, design metrics, generate insights to support product roadmapping, and visualize and communicate results. The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver, equipped with strong analytical and quantitative skills suited to approach various kinds of challenges in complex environments. Adept at creative and critical thinking, they are able to deconstruct problems and transform personal insights into data backed recommendations. Candidates must be quick learners with a strong sense of personal responsibility and a technical orientation. The ideal candidate has extensive experience analyzing large data sets, the ability to view product analytics problems and data from a finance, behavioral, and optimization perspective, and possesses excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Data Analytics experience
- M.Sc./ Ph.D. in the fields of Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Econometrics, Math or similar academic areas
- Candidates should be proficient in writing code in R / Python and SQL
- Data mining, quantitative analysis skills, and presentation to see beyond the numbers
- Capable of working with large sets of data in a variety of tools
- Delivery-oriented, able to execute analytics efforts from start to finish
- Should be self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Team player, strong communication skills, fast learner
- Analytics experience or personal interest for creative app is strongly preferred
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark is a plus
- Leverage data to understand user in-app behavior and identify areas of user experience and product enhancement through new feature implementation, targeting and customization
- Measure impact of different variables such as feature adoption on user engagement
- Define and measure metrics of user behavior including churn, habituation, engagement and long-term retention
- Generate insights to optimize user flow and life time value
- Work with large volumes of data; extract and manipulate large datasets using tools such as Spark SQL
- Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner to senior management
- Work with engineering and business intelligence to integrate, process data, and convert data into metrics and report
Masters or PhD degree in the fields of Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Econometrics, Math or similar academic areas
Pay Range: $35 - $45 per hour
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
