Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Supports the department by organizing and entering important data into various programs and web-based platforms that is used by the department and company.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Verifies and logs the receipt of data and obtains any data that is missing.


Corresponds with internal and external sources to obtain and verify contact information.


Retrieves source files and work from the data center each day.


Uses data entry equipment to record assigned data.


Resolves minor processing problems; seeks assistance from supervisor or other appropriate staff for issues beyond immediate expertise.


Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.


Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Supervision Received - Work is performed under general direction with latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Data entry experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Excellent and precise data entry and typing skills.
  • Excellent skills in operating office phone, copier, fax, and scanning equipment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, innovation and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions and meeting all deadlines.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.


SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Some tasks require manual dexterity. Some tasks require visual and hearing acuity. Tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors. Tasks require oral communications ability.
