Job Title: Data Migration Specialist
The Data Migration Specialist will be a key member of the Vigon Information Technology team reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology. This position will collaborate with colleagues in standardizing and normalizing master data across the organization in preparation for the implementation of an ERP solution. The position is also expected to contribute to the organization’s business intelligence capabilities by performing system analysis, design, and programming. This person will assist in determining how our data systems will provide the information required to make effective management decisions and creating advanced queries and reports using Microsoft SQL and related technologies.
Principle Accountabilities/Responsibilities/Tasks
- In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, define and implement data standards, policies, controls, and programs to ensure that enterprise master data is accurate, standardized, complete, secure, and reliable.
- Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to standardize enterprise master data (e.g., customers, suppliers, products, etc.) across all systems in preparation for migration to new, global ERP and CRM solution(s).
- Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design enhancements.
- Work with members of the IT team in the development, implementation, and operation of business intelligence and reporting solutions that support business requirements, follow agreed standards, and maximize the quality and reliability of the reported information.
- Work with the ERP implementation team to migrate master and transactional data from legacy system to new ERP system.
- Work with members of IT team to prepare and migrate data to future CRM and PIM systems.
- Monitor nightly automated processes to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of automated reports.
- Work with business and IT colleagues in the development of basic queries and reports (using Microsoft SQL)
- Produce and maintain high quality documentation that supports the needs of other project functions such as: architecture, analysis & data modeling, testing, and support.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Must be able to perform duties with low supervision;
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must
- Experience working with relational databases
- Proficient in Microsoft tools: SQL Server 2008 and higher, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and T-SQL;
- Intermediate experience in other areas of SQL Server development technology including stored procedures, functions and triggers
- Experience in data cleansing, data management, and data migration activities is strongly preferred
- ERP implementation (Microsoft D365 preferred) experience is highly desirable
- The ability to validate, test, and monitor BI solutions;
- Fluency in English (written and oral) required. Must be able to discuss both functional and technical concepts with team members, business colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field is preferable. Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered.
