Current Hiring Rate:$17.00/hour (non-exempt, hourly role)
The Daycare Teacher cares for infants, toddlers, and children 6 weeks to 12 years in a state-certified drop-in daycare. Daycare is open 8:30am to 4:00pm, seven days a week. This position works indoors with occasional outdoor snow play with children. This position requires a potential candidate to be available to work weekends and holidays throughout the season. A potential candidate will be at least 18 years of age, have completed 20 credits worth of training at a college or university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, and possess the experience of working with infants, children, and toddlers.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising a designated group of children daily. Each teacher will be paired with Aides to assist in daily functions. Each aide is unable to be unsupervised without a Teacher in the room.
- Clean and organize equipment.
- Attend to the daily needs of the children in their care.
- Lead group activities, art projects, and serving food, throughout the day.
- Document children's attendance, medical needs, and personal specifics reported by parents to allow the Daycare to function safely and to ensure that all needs of the children in our care are met.
- Duties with infants and toddlers include nurturing, comforting, and changing diapers.
License/Certifications- Ability to pass a criminal background check. Current OR Food Handler's card. Current and valid First Aid and CPR.
Physical Capabilities- Able to bend and lift constantly throughout the day.
Education/Related Experience:
Minimum Education Required-Experience and/or education in working with children 6 weeks to 6 years.
Minimum Time in Related Position-6 months.
