Cherry Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a mission to improve the health and wellness of individuals by providing comprehensive primary and behavioral health care while encouraging access by those who are underserved. Working in an integrated team model, the Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing all tasks in a preventative and maintenance dental program. A desire to work with a primarily underserved patient population will be important. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position typically working 40 hours per week during the hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cherry Health offers the opportunity for you to be part of a great team that is doing important work in our communities across the state of Michigan. Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited school of dental hygiene
  • RDH license from the State of Michigan
  • Basic Life Support/CPR training according to requirements of license and/or certification

Experience:

  • One year experience working in a dental practice preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and polish teeth, remove calculus deposits, and stains from teeth and beneath gums, applies topical fluoride treatments
  • Chart existing conditions in the mouth including possible areas of dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist
  • Apply pit and fissure sealants as approved by dentist
  • Expose and develop x-ray film for use by dentist
  • Educate patients in proper oral hygiene techniques for plaque removal
  • Record information in charts and initiate on going patient recall system for maintenance of teeth
  • Perform other duties as assigned
