- Pay - $98,786.53 (minimum) to $161,190.88 (maximum), depending on experience and qualifications
- Work Schedule – Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. (may work weekend on as-needed basis)
- Selection Process - Oral Panel Interview with Presentation Component: 100%
THE ROLE:
Assists in the planning, organizing and administration of plans, organizes and administers Parking Services, Veterans Services, Homeless Services, Education Initiatives, Housing and Neighborhood Services division, volunteerism and community engagement, and other related community-oriented services, programs, activities, and staff related to City Council priorities and goals.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will be a public service oriented administrator with extensive background and knowledge in community services combined with excellent leadership traits and remarkable communications skills. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in successfully managing a variety of community projects. The Deputy Director works effectively and collaboratively with the Community Services Director, staff, other City departments, City Managers, City Council, City Mayor, community groups, non-profit organizations, other government entities as well as private companies to support and provide help to the most vulnerable in the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, social services or nonprofit administration, or a closely related field; Master’s Degree preferred; and
- Eight years of progressively responsible professional public administration or nonprofit experience, including at least five years of managerial experience;
- OR an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess or obtain a valid Nevada driver’s license at time of hire and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record for the duration of employment.
