TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. The Director of Technology (Advanced Energy) will manage the technology scope of the Advanced Energy team, working collaboratively with practice leadership to develop and implement a strategy to best leverage all aspects of technology in our work. Director of Technology (Advanced Energy) will work with customers, partners, and key internal leaders to refresh and refine the technical direction of the Advanced Energy group to anticipate or outpace industry trends and maximize growth.

Key Responsibilities for Director of Technology (Advanced Energy) include:

  • Lead the transition of a project-based team of technology professionals to a product-based team
  • Assess the current structure of the fifty-person project-based team and work collaboratively with team leaders to restructure the group to be product focused and highly effective at addressing the needs of the Advanced Energy practice
  • Manage the operations of a large team of technology professionals
  • Manage the budget development for new opportunities and monitor those budgets going forward to keep the team efficient and profitable
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand the core mission and priorities of the product team and work with them to produce a strategy to effectively meet the defined priorities, keeping the long-term scalability of the product in mind.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, including program management to prioritize features and make strategic tradeoffs to deliver the best business value, move quickly and iterate to deliver scalable solutions that provide the optimal customer and technology outcomes.
  • Managing the release process and cross-functional dependencies of all the activities required to bring new features and functionality to the market.
  • Build and leverage deep business domain expertise, product and technical knowledge to translate business problems into strategic product roadmaps, requirements, and insights, including long-term vision, for end-to-end solution delivery.
Requirements:

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work closely with various teams throughout the organization
  • 10+ years of experience in technical or product leadership roles
  • 5+ years of experience in leading large teams of technology professionals
  • Expertise in project management and product ownership
  • Able to successfully direct the activities and goals of technically oriented employees to accomplish company objectives
  • Strong financial aptitude, a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong experience in budgeting and team leading
  • Problem solving/analysis and strategic thinking
  • Must be extremely organized and be able to work with many different departments and people

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $170,000 - $225,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
