Rising Sun Diesel and Auto is seeking an experienced, top-producing, diesel and auto technician who is looking for a drama free, fun, fast paced, and family friendly environment. The ideal candidate is known for being able to fix anything, is detail oriented, enjoys diagnostics, and is able to move in and around vehicles with ease.

You should be able to:

• Run diagnostic tests using precision scan tools and interpret their results to achieve a proper repair (this means computers... welcome to 2023)

• Communicate clearly and accurately to the service manager/advisor in order to develop an appropriate repair plan the customer will be satisfied with

• Repair or replace vehicle engines, chassis components, transmissions, air conditioning systems, braking systems in a manner meeting or exceeding proper repair specifications

• Be able to obtain and read technical diagrams and schematics, including wiring diagrams, parts diagrams, and other technical data sheets. (Are you resourceful and self-sufficient?)

• Have a strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and well-versed in all maintenance and repairs. A desire to learn, work hard, enjoy a peaceful work environment is a must.

• Be dedicated to continued self-guided education, be it on the job, or through technical training

• Complete jobs - done right, on time, and on budget - including any post repair testing and correction of work deficiencies

• Maintain a clean positive work environment - you'd be proud to show your loved ones where you work, what you do and who you are

• Be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally, maneuver in and around vehicles everyday including but not limited to: bending over, kneeling, reaching over head, squatting, laying over an engine bay all for extended periods of time

• Maintain a high level of safety while pursuing any repair

• Have your own tools to complete standard diesel and automotive repairs, specialized tools purchased by the shop

• Have a valid drivers license, and be able to drive a large vehicle around in a tight lot

• Forklift Certification / Prior Experience appreciated

We are a growing 6+ person independent company located off Lake Lowell and Middleton Roads in Nampa. We are family owned and operated, we go to work, work hard, and go home happy. We serve our customers well, tell the truth, and fix the problems presented to us even when they are unpleasant to deal with. We work 8:30-5pm Mon-Fri, with occasional Sunday work by appointment and approval.

We also service and repair RVs, Vanderhalls, and Motorcycles, you may be asked to extend your skill set or repair or diagnose things you are not accustomed to. On the job training is available for these if you are not experienced.

Pay:

$23-$29 / hour plus monthly performance based profit sharing plan

$47,000 - $65,000 a year depending on experience
