We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. Position Summary:*
The Dietary Aide prepares meats, vegetables, soups, salads, desserts, etc., for the patients and patrons of Hospital & Medical Foundation of Paris, Inc. Other responsibilities also included continuous quality improvement, and a liaison between the patient and the Nutritional Services Department.

Essential Functions:*
- Maintains hot and cold food temperatures according to established guidelines.
- Plans cooking schedule in conjunction with Supervisor to ensure that food is ready at specified times.
- Confers with Supervisor /Manager regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
- Prepares, dips, and packages foods according to established procedures for Meals-On-Wheels.
- Ensures that all containers/ serving trays are stocked with dishes, trays, tableware, cups, etc., and are readily available.
- Keeps patient Kardex current by recording dietary changes as orders are received.
- Checks menus before each meal, making additions and deletions as needed. (Consider incorrect meals prepared.)
- Answers department telephone indicating area, personal name, and job title. Using courteous, respectful tone, taking messages and relaying information as needed in prompt manner.
- Serves employees and guests in the cafeteria line –greeting patrons cheerfully. Treats customer with respect, courtesy, and patience. (Consider complaints received).
- Is willing to be flexible to meet patient care needs. Cooperates to provide coverage when needed. Cross trains to other jobs tasks. Accepts assignments willingly.

Position Requirements:*
- High School education or equivalent
- Food Service Sanitation Certification from IDPH is preferred
