The Digital Analyst, Strategic Analytics contributes to Ulta’s business strategy through the use of digital analytics and influences business decisions made by many cross-functional teams at Ulta. This position will require command of digital analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics, while also possessing an understanding of data capture and the digital landscape. Using digital signals, the Digital Analyst will develop insights and present opportunities to teams across the organization including eCommerce, Digital Operations, CRM & Loyalty, Merchandising, etc. in a fast-paced, data-focused retail environment.

JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Analyst, Strategic Analytics contributes to Ulta’s business strategy through the use of digital analytics and influences business decisions made by many cross-functional teams at Ulta. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze data from Ulta’s digital channels using tools such as Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics.
- Design and implement intuitive dashboards and visualizations that will help various product teams and other stakeholders make better business decisions.
- Distill data into clear, concise, and business friendly presentations that deliver insights that lead to actions and deliver those presentations to various levels of audiences including C-suite executives.
- Analyze customer on-site behavior to identify issues or opportunities, and create recommendations for future optimizations.
- Work closely with members of the Strategic Analytics team to help drive complex analytical projects and tie guest’s digital interaction with various offline data signals.
- Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders to inform data-driven decisions by intaking strategic business questions, analyzing trends, crafting data-driven stories, and providing recommendation driven insights.
- Support the advancement of key digital initiatives through testing, reporting and measurement to identify opportunities and improving outcomes.
- Possess an understanding of best practices related to website & app tagging & tracking, including various tag management solutions (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium iQ, mParticle, etc.).
- Increase the knowledge and usage of Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics across the organization by training and upskilling resources on cross-functional teams.
- Be an evangelist for Ulta’s digital data, driving other teams in the organization to adopt and use digital data in their decision making.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in an analytics role with a specialization in digital analytics.
- Proven command of digital analytics tools like Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics.
- Experience working with digital and eCommerce data within Retail, CPG, Travel & Hospitality, Financial or related industries.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations and use data to tell a story.
- Ability to work cross functionally as a thought partner to drive the use of digital data among the organization.
- BA/BS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Marketing (with a quantitative focus), or related analytical degree or experience.
- Capable of working in a dynamic environment handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately, and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with relational databases, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) a plus.
