The Digital and Social Communications Specialist serves as a critical role on Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease’s Digital and Social Communications team. Working closely with the Director of Digital and Social Communications, the Specialist will support with internal stakeholder engagement, external community management, Enterprise tool management, social listening, and insights.
The Digital and Social Communications Specialist will own all aspects of social listening set-up and management on behalf of Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease’s Corporate Communications team. Dashboards and listening terms should be set up and maintained to include Brand mentions, campaigns, crisis management, competitors, employees and culture, executives, industry events, industry trends, key opinion leaders, patient advocacy groups, partners, products, rare disease and disease awareness terms. The Specialist will deliver regular social media insights and trends to key Corporate Communications stakeholders.
The role will act as day-to-day community manager of Alexion Corporate social media channels, in charge of maintaining brand visuals, About Us/bio updates, address changes, and community guidelines across all owned social media channels. The role will monitor and engage with members of Alexion’s Corporate Channel digital community and ensure proper reporting of Adverse Events and Product Issues.
The Digital and Social Communications Specialist will act as internal expert and functional lead for our Enterprise social media management tool and as internal liaison for internal digital and social media stakeholders, in addition to supporting on team operations.
You will be responsible for:
- Proper set up of Sprinklr, our Enterprise Social Media Management tool. Including managing requests for listening access and listening content across the business, proper set up of key alerts, and maintenance of responsible data usage and storage as determined by internal policy, and external regulations like CCPA and GDPR.
- Offer quarterly social media reporting in Sprinklr and advise stakeholders on objectives and KPIs for social media campaigns.
- Maintain brand integrity on external social media channels, to include brand visuals, About Us/bio updates, address changes, and community guidelines.
- Actively monitor and engage appropriately with members of Alexion’s Corporate Channel digital community (New hires, employees, advocacy groups, patients, etc.).
- Track all necessary Adverse Event and/or Product Complaint reporting based on monitoring review, and ensure reporting occurs withing the required timeframes.
- Act as internal expert and functional lead for Sprinklr, our Enterprise Social Media Management tool.
- Act as internal Digital and Social liaison ensuring proper documentation and access to materials related to working with the team, policies and guidelines, offerings and templates, ticketing system access, and providing answers to frequently asked questions.
- Manage and monitor all emails coming to SocialMedia@Alexion.com. Manage and maintain all intake request forms on Smartsheet’s, allowing for internal stakeholders to request content, campaigns, and new channels.
- Manage governance of new channel requests and annual review of property renewals/closures.
- Act as team back-up for content and posting function.
You will need to have:
- 2-4 years in a previous social media role, either in-house or at an agency
- Deep experience using social media tools like Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Khoros, Falcon, Social Studio, etc.
- A history of community engagement, social media listening, and social media reporting.
- Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to synthesize complex social media data into meaningful and insightful presentations.
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. - Previous experience in the pharmaceutical space
