Master’s Degree required. Specialist or doctorate preferred.

Must hold a Director of Special Education license or the ability to obtain.

Five years experience in special education

Knowledge of current federal laws (including IDEA '04 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act) governing special education and transportation.

Extensive knowledge of practices and research relative to student learning.

Familiarity with licensing procedures and certification for all areas of responsibility.
-
Knowledge of current trends in the education of students related to: diagnosis, resources, programs, methods and materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Educational leader who can also demonstrate supervisory skills, plan, implement and evaluate professional development, problem solve and facilitate team and group development.

Expertise in analyzing data and other forms of information that lead to improved student learning results.

DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL SERVICES
Eden Prairie School District is seeking applicants to serve as the Director of Special Services. The Director of Special Services will be responsible to plan, direct, implement, and evaluate high quality special services for students within the policies, philosophies and goals of Eden Prairie Schools.
Eden Prairie is a school district with approximately 1,500 employees serving approximately 9,000 students. The district is recognized for its quality initiatives and its leadership in educational programming.
