Overview:
Lutron Electronics is the leading manufacturer of lighting controls worldwide. We are building a world-class legal team in our World Headquarters in Coopersburg and Philadelphia, Pa to support Lutron as we continue to grow the company domestically and internationally. Lutron is looking to hire a seasoned Internationally savvy
commercial /corporate attorney to facilitate our growth through reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements. You will be a business partner with our internal departments to develop new policies and procedures and manage legal risk to ensure compliance with Lutron's high standards. Responsibilities:
- Lead an internal and external team of legal professionals in their handling of commercial matters on a global basis and in their timely review, revision, and negotiation of various contracts
- Legal counseling to the organization on a broad spectrum of commercial and contractual matters
- Must leverage legal expertise and business expertise to provide practical business and legal advice to various business partners, including Lutron’s senior management
- Analysis of complex issues/concepts in legal transactions, especially the drafting, and negotiation of commercial agreements
- Manage outside legal work so that it is timely and cost effective
- Must work creatively with outside counsel on budgetary issues to minimize costs and resolve issues effectively
- Identify, develop, and implement business process improvements that will enhance the delivery of legal services within our organization
- Represent the company’s legal function in a variety of internal and external committees
- Serve as Legal Advisor in the negotiation and settlement of business disputes to avoid litigation and protect Lutron's business
You will bring to the team:
- Combination of large law firm and in-house experiences to share with the team
- 5+ years of experience leading an in-house business law function
- Keen sense of ownership and business acumen
- Love of technology and strong understanding of manufacturing environments
- Passion for enabling internal and external legal teams to reach their full potential
- Demonstrated success developing an organization and navigating change
- Expertise negotiating complex commercial agreements, including licensing and technology related agreements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills providing strategic counseling to senior business people
- Experience working in a matrixed organization and developing cross functional working relationships
- Ability to clearly and concisely convey complex concepts to a broad range of business professionals with no specific legal expertise
QUALIFICATIONS:
- J.D. from a Top Tier Law School
- Bar Admission in PA or capability to obtain PA Bar Admission within 12 months
- Willing to travel up to 20%
