JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Global Parkwide Infrastructure will oversee multiple teams providing design and or oversight of contracted vendors performing design, implementation and testing of the connected systems that comprise the backbone communications infrastructure for all Universal Theme Park Attraction’s, BOH facilities, and FOH facilities. Additionally, this role will oversee the operations teams responsible for the day-to-day installation, troubleshooting, and resolution of backbone fiber, and copper connectivity solutions across all properties. Manages and oversees the installation and maintenance of multiple data centers and critical environments on and off campus.

This role requires a seasoned leader with the ability to not only cast vision but develop vision and strategy as the shape of the business continues to evolve. This role partners closely with peer groups of PMO, Networking, Compute, and Construction. Experience with multiple, multi-year capital projects, improvements on existing infrastructure with zero unplanned outages and working in a geographically diverse environment is crucial to the success of this role.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop company-wide strategy for increasing knowledge of Parkwide Technical Infrastructure services offered and value to business. Collaborate across the organization and establish strong interpersonal relationships with peers, leaders, and other senior leaders.
  • Continually improves business acumen and enhances processes to guarantee a high level of availability through the use of solid and proven business technology solutions. This means partnering with divisions inside and outside of Parks Technology to review designs and objectives and ensure that these high level of standards and requirements are obtained.
  • Continually assess resources need, required skillsets and department structure to insure team alignment with business growth demand, and requirements. Manages a team of leaders to evaluate and document infrastructure solutions as part of the department standards.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Infrastructure team leaders and provide guidance on their team’s performance, development, and engagement to ensure shared collaboration and ownership across the department.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years in a large technology organization with proven expertise supporting Networking, Fiber Optics, and Structured cabling implementations.
  • Technical leadership experience in Infrastructure and/or Data Center Operations.
  • Experience in designing cable management and fiber distribution standards and systems.
  • Experience installing equipment within electrical codes, grounding regulations, and performing utilization projections, spikes, and ranges.
  • Managing mid to large scale facility design and buildouts, preferably on campus style locations and/or corporate headquarters/branch location models.
  • Planning and installation of data center and other critical environments racks, cable management, copper, fiber optic cabling and IDF builds.
  • Managing mid to large scale data center operations and branch locations.
  • Administering and working DCIM, reporting and capacity planning.
  • Technology leadership and managing implementations of infrastructure in support of voice and data enterprise services.
  • Strong Knowledge of industry standards, and proven ability to develop strategic Infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of the enterprise users.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Commscope, BICSI, and C.E. training is preferred.
