GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing and Communications leads the planning and development of all strategic marketing, public relations and communications programs for the health system, which includes Fisher-Titus Medical Center and its affiliates, to support the mission, goals and objectives of Fisher-Titus. This includes brand stewardship, internal communications, external communications including media relations, community outreach, marketing plans include media strategy and advertising, physician communications, and crisis communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops comprehensive communications strategies that convey to various internal and external constituencies the characteristics of quality and value that represent Fisher-Titus
Develops strategic integrated marketing and public relations plans that clearly articulates the mission, vision and values of the system, and supports the business goals and objectives of the system
Directs development of marketing communications tools, including advertising, Internet, social media, brochures, newsletters, direct mail, digital media, etc., ensuring all pieces meet standards for quality, accuracy, timeliness and cost-effectiveness
Develops and executes internal communications, including strategic marketing and communication messages ensuring they are effectively incorporated into all appropriate internal communications
Directs media relations function to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of the system's image as reflected in the media. Ensures process is in place to respond to media inquiries and social media comments.
Advises Senior Leadership on media/publicity issues affecting Fisher-Titus
Copywriting for Senior Leadership messaging, memos, speeches and public statements
Directs communications during crisis/disaster situations, and serves as hospital spokesperson / Privacy Information Officer (PIO)
Directs community benefit and outreach activities, special events, open houses, dedications and sets appropriate goals and emphasis of each event
Oversees sponsorship and partnership opportunities with complementary organizations
Directs system market research (quantitative and qualitative) to attain timely and actionable information and analysis, including the supervision of research staff and outside consultants
Develops and manages budget maximizing cost-effectiveness of marketing programs
Supervises and motivates staff to ensure productivity is maximized and specified goals and quality standards are met.
Ensures professional growth of self and staff through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and outside workshops and seminars
