Director of Maintenance

We are seeking an energetic and ambitious Director of Maintenance who will be responsible for managing our maintenance strategy and costs for all tractors, trailers, shop properties and maintenance staff. The position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Eagan, MN and require approximately 15-20% travel.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Enhance our current maintenance strategy for tractors, trailers and shop properties.
- Actively works with executive leadership to establish equipment specifications for major capital expenditures (tractors and trailers).
- Ensures shop strategic direction and operations are in line with overall business unit, company goals and values.
- Drive shop execution of key performance indicators and certify maintenance procedures are followed, check quality, and to ensure company is receiving the best value.
- Confirms the shop receives, understands, and follows all service bulletins and updates impacting shop performance and maximizes equipment availability.
- Selects and develops shop leaders and other maintenance staff.
- Determines the skill mix of associates necessary to maximize shop efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Continually monitors shop utilization to maximize work done in company shops.
- Develops cost reporting methods to increase understanding and identify opportunities to adjust strategy.
- Reviews financial results, determines priorities and focuses on maximizing business results.
- Prepares maintenance cost projections based on known and projected volumes.
- Identifies and plans maintenance capacity requirements.
- Negotiates with OEM’s and vendors to cut procurement costs.
- Remains current on industry trends and new product development
- 15-20% of time is spent traveling to outlying shops and maintenance facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a high degree of professionalism, is results driven, leads by example, quite literally is not afraid to get their hands dirty, has strong communication skills, is a collaborative team player, and has the following professional experience:
- 10 years of vehicle maintenance management
- Experience with data analysis to establish maintenance policies & procedures
- Multiple facility management
- Procurement & Parts Management
- Vendor relations & negotiation
- Tire Maintenance & Recap Programs, including scrap rate
- RPM (Regular preventative maintenance) compliance
- Warranty experience
- Equipment breakdown process

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
