We are looking for an experienced, self-starting, Director of Sourcing and Procurement, who will report to the VP of Operations.

Primary Objectives:

• Build a team for the sourcing of ingredients and packaging components to support Unicity’s manufacturing facilities
• Negotiate the long-term supply of strategic materials
• Reinforce the supply chain to enable the production formulations in compliance with free trade agreement guidelines while reducing reliance on foreign-sourced ingredients
• Manufacturer selection for new and existing products

Secondary Objectives:

• Refine the RFQ process to accelerate the formula-to-production timeline while increasing final cost accuracy of purchased items
• Improve relationships with key contract manufacturers and collaborating on sourcing requirements
• Seek out and qualify new suppliers and vendors to diversify the supply chain and improve competitiveness for bidding
• Collaborate on new projects for accurate costing estimates and sourcing expectations
• Report on key metrics for OTIF, cost overruns, general supplier performance

Candidate Requirements:

• 10+ years of work experience, including at least 3 years in a similar role in the food, human nutrition, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industries
• Effective communication via multiple channels between various time zones
• Responsive and able to consume information from a variety of sources
• Able to manage a team consisting of on-site and remote members
• Capable of developing and organizing workflows for efficient distribution of tasks among a global team
• Possess a keen sense of detail and without losing focus of overall strategic and tactical goals
