Job Summary:
The Director of External Affairs builds and maintains strategic relationships while identifying opportunities to improve the organization’s community impact. Establishes and manage external partnerships with corporations, nonprofits, universities, and the local community. Works within the community to develop opportunities to promote health access via Care Alliance health Centers (CACH). Establish relationships with C-Suite staff to create opportunities and alliances for Care Alliance.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and cultivate innovative partnerships with community partners, civic organizations, School board officials, community leaders, and elected officials to build strategic alliances dedicated to furthering the mission of Care Alliance Health Center.
  • Personally manage engagement with a portfolio of active and prospective private foundations and corporate partners.
  • Actively seek and work with internal stakeholders to extend and grow influence in the community.
  • Foster collaboration and integration of marketing and outreach efforts to effectively leverage organizational goals.
  • Oversee community needs assessment to better understand patient and community needs Develop and execute the strategic planning, implementation, and marketing around meaningful community partnerships. Design and implement community events like open houses and health fairs.
  • Conduct presentations and workshops on CAHC services and health topics.
  • Prepare concise, strategic background documents and presentations related to partnering with CAHC.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for corporate sponsors, foundation and strategic partners.
  • Provide management oversight and hands on support to the community engagement team in the delivery of services at CAHC.
  • Partner with the Community Advisory Boards, oversee focus groups, and patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of campaign development activities and presentations to foundations/corporations with the ability to move and communicate seamlessly and optimally among and between multifaceted audiences.
  • Formulate marketing communications and presentations for organizations of various sizes, ethnicities and backgrounds, beliefs and orientations.
  • Design, write, execute, and manage the development and distribution of print and electronic materials.
  • Daily management of social media platforms, working with the Chief Quality & Innovations Officer on Marketing and Outreach on posting content
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of substantive work experience with growing responsibility in engagement and external affairs, preferably for a non-profit.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Health or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising staff experience.
  • Can operate independently, apply sound judgment, and maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to write for disparate audiences and channels (i.e., traditional and social) both strategically and creatively.
  • Must be professional, positive, and available for evening and weekend events.
