Medical Courier Dispatcher – Lowell

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A leading Delivery and Transportation company seeks an experienced Dispatcher in the Lowell Massachusetts Market. This position will report to the Dispatch and Operations Managers. Communicates directly with Independent Contract and Agent Couriers in order to better service our client(s) in and around Lowell, Massachusetts.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintain daily log of drivers and Dispatch System, and has continued contact with couriers including recording arrival/departure times at customers, lunch breaks, and route completions.
• Communicates with managers throughout the day for updates on late routes, delivery delays and breakdowns, etc.
• Communicate estimated delivery dates/times to customers
• Manage various customer delivery expectations to ensure each customers- needs are met
• Receives incoming updates from drivers.
• Assign routes and STATS
• Monitor progress of drivers and assess the need for assistance or identify other possible route concerns to ensure timely completion of routes
• Answers incoming phone calls.
• Receives, routes, and analyzes information
• Work with managers to arrange alternate when drivers are absent
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency degree required,
• Must be flexible and willing to work overtime when needed
• 2-4 years previous related experience
• Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in changing pressure-filled situations
• Excellent mathematical and reading skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work well with both internal and external customers.
• Proficient in WMS and Office
• Working knowledge of the location of towns & cities within Massachusetts
• Previously demonstrated proficiency with routing/logistics software
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be a team player
• Work hours: 1500 to 2300 Mon to Fri

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
