Division Certified Industrial Hygienist – ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a multi-disciplinary industrial hygienist role. The incumbent will serve as a technical expert for industrial hygiene, safety, and ergonomics. The incumbent will also selectively execute industrial hygiene, safety and/or ergonomics fieldwork, and will selectively be involved in project management of fieldwork completed by other staff. The incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results within budget and timeframe.

General Accountabilities:

• Reviews proposals and completes sample plans for exposure assessments, indoor-air quality sampling, and other industrial hygiene related sampling
• Monitors and reports progress on plan completion as directed. Works with numerous internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity
• Acts as a senior advisor to customers and Apex field staff on industrial hygiene, safety & ergonomics technical issues. Highly familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industrial hygiene, safety and ergonomics field(s)
• Mentors more junior Apex staff as appropriate.
• Reviews sample data for quality and correctness and assists with completion and review of deliverables.
• Provides selective oversight of the execution of sampling.
• Selectively takes part in field sampling, site visits, and field assessments as needed.
• Assists in vetting of sub-contractors and industrial hygiene related labs.
• Ensure safe performance of project work by field staff when on site.
• Prepare technical proposals; conduct peer reviews of proposals created by others

Job Requirements - What we are looking for:

• BA/BS/MS in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Ergonomics, or a related technical field. 8+ years of solid related technical experience.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
• Passion for mentoring and training staff
• Strong technical writing skills; proficiency with MS Office suite
• Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices
• Deep, current knowledge of industry / Safety & Ergonomics regulations
• Motivated, dynamic leader in the H&S consulting industry, results-oriented, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a professional services culture.
