Position Summary:
Responsible for planning and executing the activities associated with the Annual Campaign (acquisition, retention, and cultivation of individual donors) in collaboration with the Vice President of Development and Associate Director of Development. Performance goals include development and achievement of the individual Annual Campaign goal, management of the Tessitura database and its features, donor concierge services, and the development and achievement of donor cultivation activities at Omaha Performing Arts. Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Acquisition and Retention of Individual Donors
  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Development and the Associate Director of Development, develops and executes strategies for the Annual Campaign including individual donor acquisition, renewal, and retention efforts.
  • Participates, with staff and Board of Directors, in the identification, solicitation, cultivation, recognition and stewardship of individual donors.
  • Utilizes donor prospect software, iWave, to research current and potential donors.
  • Develops and monitors the Annual Campaign revenue and expense budgets.
  • Meets annual revenue goals while growing the quantity of donor households as identified in the Strategic Plan.
  • Works with the Marketing Department to create all Annual Campaign solicitation materials and donor communication materials.
  • Develops specific loyalty campaigns to move single ticket buyers to multi-ticket buyers, and eventually subscribers to donors.
  • Creates various reports (Tessitura Analytics) to show Annual Campaign progress.
  • Manages employee giving drive.
  • Manages all crowdfunding fundraising platforms including Omaha Gives, Qtego and Share Omaha.
  • Attends bi-weekly Revenue Pacing Meetings, monthly Staff Managers Meetings and biweekly Patron Experience meetings.
Cultivation of Individual Donors
  • Development and fulfillment of benefit and recognition programs for Circles of Giving donors.
  • Plans and implements donor experiences for Circles of Giving donors and Super Subscribers in conjunction with various performances throughout the season to further engage donors.
  • Visits personally with individual donors.
Donor Relations (Concierge)
  • Processes donor requests for subscription and single ticket purchases and exchanges. Additionally, works with Marketing to notify donors of special ticket pre-sales.
  • Assists with VIP ticketing and special requests.
  • Assists in managing the donor lounges in the Orpheum Theater and Holland Center.
  • Assists in the coordination of Development activities with other departments at O-pa.
Tessitura/Database Management
  • Oversees all aspects of the Tessitura database for the Development department. This includes entry of all membership-related contributions (Circles of Giving), donor research and prospecting, reporting, acknowledgements, mailing lists, extractions, contact reports, ticketing services and database clean up.
  • Ensures best practice use of analytics, data and metrics to forecast and track progress and success of fundraising goals, strategies and tactics.
  • Trains Development staff on existing and new features of Tessitura.
  • Develops and maintains Tessitura Users’ Manual for Development Department.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • Three or more years’ applicable experience in development and/or patron services
  • Individual giving experience including leading strategic campaigns
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to research, plan and think strategically
  • Must be able to take initiative
  • Ability to follow through with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team setting with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks concurrently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in web-based research and the use of CRM software, specifically development and ticketing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including many evenings and weekends
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:
  • Valid driver’s license required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Development Systems Coordinator
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
  • Advanced degree in Arts Management preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
