Located in Southern California, Jensen's Foods is a family-owned upscale supermarket where Quality, Service and Selection have been traditions since 1940.

We are looking for an applicant with previous donut production and frying experience for our Bakery Production Plant in Palm Desert, California. The Donut Fryer is responsible for producing donuts from start to finish as directed by the Bakery Production Manager and according to company standards which will include mixing, frying, and decorating the product.

Applicants must be able to follow established recipes and preparation instructions and use commercial mixers, deep fryers, proofers, dough dividers and sheeters, ovens, baker’s racks, and dishwasher. The applicant must be able to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information. The work environment is fast paced, physically demanding and requires the ability to multi-task various products to meet company production needs. Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.

Applicants must have previous donut preparation and frying experience in a commercial kitchen setting. No recreational or home bakers will be considered. Applicants without the required previous work experience should not apply.

Job tasks, responsibilities, and qualifications:

Ability to follow production schedule.

Ability to accurately measure and/or weigh various ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, and fillings using commercial scales and measuring equipment.

Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen and baking equipment.

Ability to read and follow recipes.

Ability to follow workplace direction, multi-task, and work well with coworkers and management.

Availability to work evenings and early morning shifts, weekends, and most holidays.

Constant use of hands which includes simple and power grasping.

Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching required.

Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must follow safe food handling procedures.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must obtain a County Food Worker Card upon hiring.

Although this position will focus on donut and other fried pastry production, it may also include other job duties within the Bakery Production Plant as assigned by management.
