Job description
We are looking for a driver to safely transport all students, as assigned, in accordance with all CPL policies and DMV regulations.Responsibilities
- Maintain and safeguard each employee/family/student's right to privacy respect and confidentiality.
- Ensure vehicle is in safe running order at all times.
- Comply with all protocols as stated in the CPL Transportation Handbook.
- Ensure safe pickup and drop-off of each student.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
- Accurately maintain mileage logs of the assigned vehicle.
- Oversee the Driver Assistant to assure safety and proper care of all assigned students.
- Assist students in program area as directed.
- Perform additional related duties as requested by the Principal/Manager of Transportation.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience transporting students who have physical disabilities
- Speak, read and write English
- Ability to read maps, follow verbal and written direction
- Current valid NJ Commercial Drivers License (CDL) in good standing, Class B with Passenger and School endorsements
- Ability to lift, transfer all students, as assigned, in accordance with all CPL policies and DMV regulations (minimum of 40 pounds)
- Ability to maneuver and tie down wheelchairs
