Join our dedicated team of professionals. The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration, Residential Care Services within the Department of Social and Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mental Health Transitional Long Term Care Surveyor.
You will be part of a team that will be responsible for support to residents with behavioral health issues in long-term care settings and helps to provide appropriate community-based care that will support the stability of the people we serve.

Some of what you'll be doing:
- Conduct full inspections of Assisted Living Facilities and Enhanced Services Facilities or Nursing Home Survey, according to state and federal procedures and directives; complete data entry and reports.
- Provide regulatory oversight to ensure licensing requirements are being met in specialized care settings by qualified caregivers.
- Conduct interviews with individual residents, resident family members, and other community representatives to obtain information regarding the practices of providers and residents' satisfaction with the care and services provided.
- Plan and organize workload.
- Communicate with team members, providers, staff, residents, and families.
- Obtain information regarding residents' care and services from professional records, facility staff, and other sources.
- Recognize and analyze deficient practice.
- Accept and follow procedures and directives from management.
- Identify and follow the chain of command and utilized appropriate communication channels.
- Conduct state licensure follow-up inspections.
- Participate in education, training, and administrative hearings as required.
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge and expertise of principles and practices in long-term care services, social skills, time management skills, investigative and interviewing techniques, and report writing.
- Experience in the mental health and/or behavioral health services arena preferred.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of this job.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population.
- Ability to maintain an objective, professional and respectful demeanor with difficult persons and events.
Who should apply?
- Professionals with a Master's degree in social work, speech pathology, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, special education, sociology, or a related field and two years of professional experience in planning, administering, licensing, monitoring, or delivering social or health or behavioral health service programs.
- Two additional years of qualifying experience will substitute for the Master's degree provided a Bachelor's degree in one of the above-mentioned fields has been achieved. Qualifying experience must include working with behavioral health service programs.
